Day 2 - Europe 2013

The flight from NY to London was wonderfully uneventful. We are hoping to head to the Tower of London before meeting up with the group from Phoenix. However, the line to get through customs is cramping our schedule a bit.

So far we've lost a plane (or at least Delta couldn't find one), Zac lost his luggage (hopes to have it tomorrow), and we lost two students at the airport (Sarah and Makayla). Things will get better.

This is Sarah and her Mom Karen checking in on the kids. Sarah organizes the trip for the St. Clairsville Middle School and High School students. She travels often and does an amazing job with this group. Much appreciated.

We met up with our tour guide Dave and headed to the hotel - Premier Inn Hanger Lane. We ate a quick lunch at a local sandwich shop. We then headed via the tubes to the Tower of London.

Dave gave us a good training on the tubes as we messed up a few times on which direction we had to go and had to change trains.

Some of the group went through the Tower of London while others chose to explore the Tower Bridge and adjacent Starbucks.

I loved this art work on the river banks. It just struck me as very beautiful, the lines, the curves - innocence of nature.

Aaron brought his Simba pillow...yes Aaron has a Simba pillow...and it has been featured in a series of pictures at each stop.
